MAID IN CHINA

Maid in China was performed in November 2008, and was written by HLT member, Philippa Smith. Loosely based on the Willow Pattern story, young Henry Hopper found himself whisked from a Museum in England in 2008 to ancient China , where he joined the world-famous archaeologist and anthropologist Muriel Shovelit-North in an effort to lift the curse from a willow pattern plate. Eventually, with the help of two 21st century travellers, everyone lived happily ever after.

The show had a large cast and back-stage crew, whose age ranged from 8 to 80. It included 67 beautiful Chinese costumes most made by hand, as well as a smoke-billowing dragon - courtesy of our special effects team.

Maid in China has now been published and is being performed by theatre groups around the world. See www.lazybeescripts.co.uk
