Summer Holiday

In August 2011, Young Little Theatre’s Play in a Week was Summer Holiday. Summer Holiday was written and choreographed by the children themselves during the course of one week – working between 10.30 a.m. and 4.30 p.m. each day. The children also designed the set and costumes for the production. The play was based on the theme of family and friends.

The story concerned Sarah and her two daughters, Katie and Chloe, who were on a very special holiday in their villa somewhere abroad. The girls’ friends, Natasha and Chloe, had also joined them for the holiday. This was the first time in seven years that Sarah felt she was able to go to the villa and leave the youngest member of the family, Freddy, at home with a carer – Freddie was ill and couldn’t travel.
